With reference to your letter of guarantes dated 7th. August requesting us tê return the above packages to London, we are advised by our Hongkong Superintendent that on examination by the Customs Authorities at Hongkong three of the packages, (Nos. 32, 33 & 35) were found to contain Umbrellas, Opium and Korphia. These goods were at once seized by the Custom
Authorities and are new in the hands of the Government. The other two cases (Nos. 34 & 36) contained only Umbrellas, and have now been returned to London per "Fersia".
As three of these cases were incorrectly declared of shippers are liable for double freight! but under the rate on Opium viz: 100/- plus 5% per subic feet, and we shall be
glad to receive a remittance for £5- 3- 9.
With regard to the cases (2) now in London, we will hand you Delivery Order for same on receipt of half outward freight paid namely 16/6.
